These are the breaks: Pant length – No break versus Floods

New Picture (13)

Gentlemen, I think it’s time we talk about high water pants.

If you are super slim (not many of us middle-aged guys are) or super trendy (not many of us middle-aged guys should be), high water pants or floods may be a good look . Maybe.

I personally don’t think so, but to each his own.

What  I do find cool and age appropriate are pant hems with no break. It’s a subtle way show off those fancy socks, showcase your shoe game and generally look like a well-put-together gentleman.

Here’s what I’m talking about. Below are some pictures of the good, the bad and the ugly:

Good Break-

No Break –

Too Much Break –

Floods or High Water –

So what’s right for you?

I tend to err on the conservative when it comes to style, so my happy place is either good or no break. But feel free to walk on the high water wild side if you choose. Remember, style is personal.

  1. I like a nice good break, but I always end up with the end of my pants right at the bottom of my shoes. The problem is…I’m just going to put it out there, I’ve got no behind. I mean it’s straight up and down back there lol. So no matter how tight my belt is, pants tend to slip down as i walk. It sucks, but that’s my life lol.
