I love the traditions fans have around their favourite sports.
As baseball traditions go my friends and I faithfully attend our beloved Blue Jays home opener each year. And it’s always one of the best days of the year.
Around the league it’s the same, opening week in baseball is just a lot of fun. It signals the beginning of spring and the promise of warmer days ahead. Hope is in the air, especially here in Toronto. And each year my friends and I get an all day pass from our wives to spend the day eating wings, drinking beer and talking trash.
Needless to say we always over do it.
And needless to say, I’ve been suffering through this week.
So, three cheers to my liver for withstanding another opening week.
Next week I’ll share some more about Opening Day 2013. Here are some pictures from my week:
I’m interested in hearing about how fans enjoy opening day at other ballparks around the league. Let me know what your traditions are…
Have a great weekend.
