In Philadelphia, it’s worth 50 bucks | The Timex Weekender is a real deal

So I’m at work surfing the internet as I sometimes do in my free time. Of course, looking for tips on how to build more effective financial models and such. You know, as a dedicated banker that’s what I use the internet for when I’m at work.

Anywho, I stumbled upon the picture of the watch above and I stopped to examine it. You see, I love watches. I own an ever-growing collection and this one is just my style. I love how simple and classy this is. As I admired it, I realized that the object of my affection was a Timex. That’s right. Take a closer look. This stylish classic timepiece is a Timex.

“Look, it tells time simultaneously in Monte Carlo, Beverly Hills, London, Paris, Rome, and Gstaad.”  Louis Winthorpe III – Trading Places was a great movie!

Now I’m not a snob… okay maybe I lean a bit to the snobby side, but in this case I just wasn’t aware of how things have changed. Or more accurately I guess, how Timex has changed.  I’ve never really given a Timex watch a second look until now. So I decided to investigate further.

To my surprise I found a watch that I liked more than the one in the picture. The Timex Weekender ‘Central Park’.

For the wristwatch obsessed such as myself, this is a great find. Not only is it casual, classy and Timex durable.

Its $50.

Yes, FIFTY bucks (…in my best Bo Diddley from the movie Trading Places voice).

Thank you Timex.

I may indeed be a snob but I can put those feelings aside for a great deal like this.

  1. Honestly, I truly believed I was one of the few people who loved the simplicity of a watch like this. I almost bought one just like it two weeks ago. Now, I’m gonna do it because I know a GQ guy in Canada who also thinks it’s cool.

    • Thanks for the comment. The one thing I would suggest is that you have fun with the ribbon/band. Change it up. It pretty simple and inexpensive to remove and replace the band to add a different look to your watch. Thanks again for reading and commenting.
