I’m proud of myself. I actually did a lot of research and a bit of soul-searching in my quest for a new scent. Like I said before I don’t usually put this much thought into buying cologne. I have to be honest, I’m still uncomfortable walking around in the fragrance section. There really isn’t any distinction between the men’s and women’s fragrance section of department stores. The bottles all look the same to me and in one store everything was all mixed together. They sold men’s cologne right beside women’s. It really is a strange and confusing world. You need to know what you’re looking for before you enter these places. But I endured. This time instead of stumbling upon a fragrance or going with ‘old faithful’ (Burberry Brit). I’ve taken a look at my personality and after much sampling decided that Polo Double Black suits me best.
Like me this fragrance is sophisticated and interesting, yet conservative and business-like. A mix of daring and bold but not overpowering. Definitely for daytime wear. It’s a less potent, understated version of Polo Black, which I also like. However, Polo Black is a stronger scent, more suited for evening or formal wear.
I’m very happy with my choice and at $75 it’s priced very well.
Now the next step is finding a weekend fragrance. Wish me luck.
